Pool Cleaning Services St. Pete Beach, FL

Sand, salt and rental turnovers handled every week

On St. Pete Beach the Gulf is a short walk from nearly every backyard, and your pool feels it. Sea breezes carry fine sand over fences and through screens, salt spray settles on decks and equipment, and summer weather can turn calm water cloudy in an afternoon.

Palmway Pools takes care of island pools for residents, seasonal homeowners and vacation rental owners alike. We are licensed and insured, run a reliable weekly schedule and send a service report with photos every time we leave.

Palmway Pools serves St. Pete Beach as part of our Pinellas County pool service area. Call 844-307-1680 or book online.

Beachside Pool and Hot Tub Services

Island pools need the same basics as any pool, with extra attention to sand, salt and guest use. Here is what we provide.

Weekly Pool Cleaning

Our weekly visits focus heavily on vacuuming, because sand that drifts in from the beach sinks and grinds on pool surfaces. We also brush, skim, clean baskets, check the filter and balance the water.

Spa & Hot Tub Cleaning

After a day on the beach, guests head for the hot tub carrying sunscreen and sand. We clean the filter and shell and reset sanitizer so the water stays comfortable and clear.

Pool Equipment Repair

Salt spray this close to the Gulf corrodes heaters, pump motors and fasteners faster than inland. Our island repair calls cover pumps, filters, heaters, chlorinator cells and pool automation.

Vacation Rental Pool Care

Rentals are a big part of island life here. We plan visits around check-in and check-out and send photos so owners and property managers know the pool is ready.

Living With Sand and Salt on the Island

St. Pete Beach is a barrier island, connected to the mainland by the Corey Causeway and the Pinellas Bayway. With the Gulf on one side and Boca Ciega Bay on the other, there is almost always wind. That wind deposits sand on pool floors and steps, and fine sand can pass through filters and cloud the water if it is not vacuumed out.

Pools here also see heavy swimmer loads, especially rentals in peak season. More swimmers means more sunscreen, sweat and debris, which uses up chlorine. Add hot sun and summer storms and you get chemistry that needs testing every week.

  • Sand drifting onto pool floors and steps
  • Salt spray on heaters, motors and fasteners
  • Sunscreen film along the waterline
  • Heavy guest use in rental season
  • Storm prep and cleanup during hurricane season

Neighborhoods and ZIP Codes We Serve in St. Pete Beach

Our island route covers St. Pete Beach from the north end down to Pass-a-Grille, and we also serve Tierra Verde just across the water.

  • Pass-a-Grille: This historic neighborhood at the southern tip of the island has older homes on narrow streets, with pools exposed to both Gulf and bay breezes.
  • Tierra Verde (33715): Reached by the Pinellas Bayway, Tierra Verde’s waterfront homes face constant salt air and many are rented to visitors heading to Fort De Soto.

ZIP codes: On the island we cover ZIP 33706, and Tierra Verde in ZIP 33715 is included too. A quick call to 844-307-1680 or an online booking request confirms your address.

What Happens at Each Island Pool Visit

Our seven-step visit is the same everywhere, but on the beach we spend extra time on the floor and the equipment.

  1. Inspection. We check clarity, water level and equipment, looking for sand buildup and salt crust.
  2. Skimming. Debris and anything the wind blew in comes off the surface.
  3. Brushing. Walls, steps and tile are brushed, including the waterline where sunscreen collects.
  4. Vacuuming. Sand and settled dirt are vacuumed out so they do not recirculate.
  5. Basket cleaning. Skimmer and pump baskets are emptied to keep water moving.
  6. Filter and equipment. We check filter pressure and inspect equipment for corrosion and leaks.
  7. Water balance. Chemistry is tested and adjusted, then documented in your photo report.

Why Island Owners Work With Palmway Pools

Many St. Pete Beach owners do not live here full time. Our photo report after each visit means you can check on your pool from anywhere, and the same technician on your pool when possible means someone familiar is keeping watch.

We show up on schedule, which matters when guests arrive on a Saturday afternoon expecting a clean pool. If something needs repair, we tell you quickly so it can be fixed before the next booking.

St. Pete Beach Pool Service FAQs

Why is there always sand at the bottom of my St. Pete Beach pool?2026-10-08T09:00:00-04:00

Wind off the Gulf carries fine sand over fences and through screen enclosures, and swimmers track it in from the beach. Sand is heavy, so it sinks rather than reaching the skimmer. Weekly vacuuming removes it before it scratches surfaces or clouds the water, and a rinse station for feet near the pool can reduce how much comes in.

Can you work around my rental’s check-in and check-out days?2026-10-08T09:01:00-04:00

Yes. Tell us your usual turnover day and we will try to place your visit so the pool is fresh for arriving guests. Heavy use burns through chlorine, so we test every time. Photo reports give you a dated record you can share with a property manager or cleaning crew, and they help settle any guest questions about the pool.

Does salt air shorten the life of pool equipment?2026-10-08T09:02:00-04:00

It can. Salt spray settles on heaters, pump motors and metal fasteners, and over time it causes corrosion. We inspect equipment on every visit and note any rust, leaks or worn parts so you can repair them before they fail during a busy week.

Do you service Pass-a-Grille and Tierra Verde?2026-10-08T09:03:00-04:00

Yes. Pass-a-Grille, at the south end of the island, is part of our St. Pete Beach route in ZIP 33706, and Tierra Verde across the Bayway in ZIP 33715 is covered as well. If your home is on the edge of either area, call 844-307-1680 and we will confirm your street before setting up service.

What should I do with my island pool before a hurricane?2026-10-08T09:04:00-04:00

Secure loose furniture and decor so it does not end up in the water, turn off power to equipment if flooding or lightning is likely, and do not drain the pool, since an empty shell can be damaged. After the storm, once the causeways are open, we clear debris, check equipment and rebalance the water.

Is weekly cleaning necessary for a second home that sits empty?2026-10-08T09:05:00-04:00

An empty house still gets sun, wind and rain every day. Without regular testing, chlorine burns off and algae can take hold within a week or two in summer. We offer bi-weekly plans for lightly used pools, but on the island, weekly service is usually the safer choice for a second home.
