Pool Cleaning Services in Hillsborough County, FL

Weekly pool care from Tampa’s bungalows to South Shore canal homes

Hillsborough County pools live a hard life. Summer storms roll in off the bay nearly every afternoon, oak canopies drop leaves and tassels year round, and the heat chews through chlorine faster than most owners expect. Palmway Pools keeps residential pools, spas and hot tubs clean and balanced across a defined part of the county, from central and South Tampa down through Brandon, Riverview and the South Shore communities along Tampa Bay.

Licensed and fully insured, we follow the same seven-step routine at every stop, usually send the same technician week after week, and leave a service report with photos. If something on the equipment pad is failing, we can repair it rather than just tell you about it.

Hillsborough Communities on Our Route

Our Hillsborough routes run in a band from the urban core of Tampa southeast to Sun City Center. Pick your community below for local details, covered ZIP codes and answers to the questions we hear most in that area.

Central, west and east Tampa, including Seminole Heights, Ybor City, Westshore and Town ‘n’ Country. Older pools under big oaks and newer infill builds both get a full weekly visit.

Pool cleaning in Tampa

Hyde Park, Davis Islands, Palma Ceia and the Bayshore neighborhoods south of Kennedy Boulevard. Bay breezes, mature landscaping and tight lots shape how we service pools here.

Pool cleaning in South Tampa

Brandon’s 33510 and 33511 ZIPs, including the 33511 side of Bloomingdale. Many screened pools in established subdivisions where filters and pumps are reaching middle age.

Pool cleaning in Brandon

Riverview, Progress Village, Gibsonton, Balm and the 33569 side of FishHawk. Lots of newer construction with saltwater systems and automation that need steady attention.

Pool cleaning in Riverview

Canal-front homes and communities along the bay in 33572. Salt air and boat-dock living mean equipment and finishes need a careful eye every week.

Pool cleaning in Apollo Beach

Homes near the Little Manatee River and Shell Point in 33570. Rural-edge lots bring more blowing sand, leaves and insects into the water.

Pool cleaning in Ruskin

Kings Point and the 55+ communities in 33573. Reliable weekly service for residents who would rather not haul chemicals or lift a pool vacuum.

What Makes Pool Care Different in Hillsborough

The county splits into two pool personalities. Inside Tampa, many pools are decades old and sit under live oaks, so the work centers on debris, worn plaster and aging pumps. Toward Apollo Beach and Ruskin, canals and open lots near the bay make wind, sand and salt air the bigger factors.

Both halves share the same weather. From June through September, a dry morning can turn into an inch of rain by evening, diluting chemistry and washing mulch and fertilizer into the water. Hurricane season adds the occasional cleanup after a named storm, when screens tear and yards empty into the pool.

  • Live oak leaves, acorns and Spanish moss in older Tampa neighborhoods
  • Spring pollen that coats the surface and clogs filters
  • Afternoon thunderstorms that dilute chlorine and lower pH
  • Salt air and wind-blown sand near the bay and canals
  • Screen-enclosure debris and torn panels after strong storms

Pool and Spa Services Available Across the County

Weekly Pool Cleaning

Our core service is a weekly visit that covers skimming, brushing walls, steps and tile, vacuuming, emptying baskets, checking filter pressure and balancing chemistry. Low-use pools can go on a bi-weekly plan, though most Hillsborough pools do better weekly in summer.

Spa & Hot Tub Cleaning

Attached spas and standalone hot tubs get their own water testing and cleaning. Small volumes of hot water go out of balance quickly, so we keep sanitizer and pH in range and watch for scaling on jets and heaters.

Pool Equipment Repair

We repair pumps, filters, heaters, salt cells and automation systems. Because our techs see your equipment every week, problems like a rising filter pressure or a noisy motor usually get caught before they become a green pool.

Vacation Rental Pool Care

Short-term rental hosts in Tampa and along the South Shore need a pool that looks right before every check-in. We schedule around turnovers and send photo reports so you can see the pool without driving over.

“I recently switched my service from a reputable and reliable Pool cleaning service company to Palmway Pools due to scheduling conflict. Palmway Pools was able to accommodate the request. Hillsborough County Pool Service FAQs

Which parts of Hillsborough County does Palmway Pools not serve?2026-10-08T09:00:00-04:00

We do not currently cover North Tampa and USF, Carrollwood, Northdale, Citrus Park, Westchase, Temple Terrace, New Tampa, Lutz, Valrico, east Bloomingdale, Seffner, Lithia, Plant City, Wimauma or the 33598 portion of Sun City Center. Our routes stay in central and South Tampa, Brandon 33510 and 33511, Riverview, Gibsonton, Balm, Apollo Beach, Ruskin and Sun City Center 33573. Call 844-307-1680 if your address sits near a boundary.

Do Tampa pools and South Shore pools need different care?2026-10-08T09:01:00-04:00

The routine is the same seven steps, but the emphasis shifts. In older Tampa neighborhoods we spend more time pulling oak debris and watching aging equipment. Closer to the bay in Apollo Beach and Ruskin, sand, salt air and wind-driven debris are the bigger issues, and we pay closer attention to corrosion on metal parts and the condition of screen enclosures.

How do summer storms affect my pool chemistry?2026-10-08T09:02:00-04:00

Heavy afternoon rain adds a lot of fresh water in a short time, which lowers chlorine levels and often pulls pH and alkalinity down. Runoff can also carry fertilizer and organic matter that feed algae. During the rainy season we test and adjust at every visit, and we look for overflowing water levels and debris that needs to come out before it stains the finish.

Can you service a pool inside an HOA or 55+ community?2026-10-08T09:03:00-04:00

Yes. Many of our customers in Riverview, Apollo Beach and Sun City Center live in deed-restricted neighborhoods. Our techs follow gate procedures, park considerately and keep equipment pads tidy. If your HOA has rules about service hours or vehicle access, let us know when you book and we will plan around them.

What is in the service report I receive?2026-10-08T09:04:00-04:00

Each visit ends with a report that includes photos of the pool and equipment, notes on the work done and the chemistry readings. If our tech spots a cracked basket, a leaking pump seal or a dirty salt cell, it is flagged so you can decide on a repair early.

How do I get on a route?2026-10-08T09:05:00-04:00

Book through our online scheduling page or call 844-307-1680, seven days a week between 9 AM and 5 PM. Share your address, the type of pool or spa you have and any issues you have noticed, and we will confirm coverage and get you on a route.
